Creative Connections: Nurturing New Leaders in Inclusive Arts
Our project, Creative Connections is a community-led project in Nottingham that brings together experienced creative practitioners and emerging artists to build confidence, skills, and experience in leading their own workshops for children and young people with SEND.
Over the past few months, we’ve been lucky to have Amanda Hose-Hawley running a fantastic series of inclusive movement sessions at Impacd CIC in Nottingham. Amanda brings a gentle and encouraging approach, creating a supportive space where participants can explore their creativity and start thinking about how they might lead sessions themselves.
One of the real highlights has been seeing Future Leader, Issy, step up to lead her own visual arts workshops. She took on the challenge with energy and care, designing and delivering thoughtful sessions that have been a joy to take part in. It’s been brilliant to watch her grow in confidence and take ownership of her creative ideas.
This has been an excellent experience for everyone involved - a genuine collaboration that values learning, sharing, and supporting one another.
Creative Connections will be continuing throughout the year, with more opportunities for emerging creatives to get involved, try new things, and develop their own leadership styles within a safe and inclusive setting.
We’re really excited to see what’s next and to keep celebrating the creativity and talent within our SEND community here in Nottingham.
Take a few moments to watch our project showreel and see the joy running throughout our final session.
