Join the Beat: Discover the Happy Lady Drumming Club for Women’s Wellbeing

Looking for a way to unwind, connect, and let loose through rhythm? Look no further than the Happy Lady Drumming Club, a joyful collaboration between BeatFeet and When Women Gather that seeks to support women’s mental and emotional wellbeing through the power of drumming and rhythm.

Every week, women from Nottingham and the surrounding areas gather to enjoy the magic of making music together. Our sessions are designed to be welcoming and inclusive, whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned rhythm enthusiast.

For Beginners: No Experience Needed
Never touched a drum before? Perfect! Our beginner classes are open to everyone. You can borrow one of our beautiful djembes or bring your own, and the goal is simply to have fun. We’ll introduce you to the basics of rhythm in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. Come together, let go of stress, and discover the joy that rhythm can bring.

For Improvers: Grow Your Skills and Confidence
If you’ve been drumming with us for a while and feel ready to dive deeper, our improvers’ class is the perfect next step. We’ll explore a wider repertoire of global rhythms, develop new techniques, and even work on performance skills for those who’d like to share their drumming with a wider audience. Whether you choose to perform or just enjoy the journey, it’s all about building confidence and having fun together!

A Community of Rhythm and Support
Throughout 2025, our Happy Lady Drumming Club has had the joy of performing at events like CommuniTree Festival at Wollaton Hall, Nottingham Castle, Light Night with Nottingham City Council, and Stonebridge City Farm. While performing is always optional, it’s a wonderful way to feel part of a supportive community and celebrate the sense of achievement that comes with making music together.

So, if you’re looking for a fun, welcoming space to explore rhythm and connect with other women, come join us! Bring your own djembe or borrow one of ours, and let’s discover the joy of drumming together. We can’t wait to welcome you into our welcoming drumming circle.
