Nurturing Creativity in the Early Years: Our New Education Programme

We’re thrilled with the ongoing development of an exciting new creative and cultural education programme for early years children in selected schools across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Supported by Arts Council England, this initiative is designed to inspire and engage children in Reception, KS1, and SEND settings through a series of dynamic and immersive workshops.

Bringing Creativity to Life in the Classroom

Our programme offers children the chance to explore their creativity and express themselves in unique and meaningful ways. Through hands-on workshops in hand drumming, singing, dance, storytelling, and visual arts, we aim to nurture imagination, confidence, and joy in young learners. By integrating these creative opportunities into their school experience, we’re helping children to develop vital skills such as communication, collaboration, and self-expression.

Supporting Teachers with Valuable Resources

To ensure the impact of this programme extends beyond the workshops, we’re developing a series of high-quality teaching and learning resources. These materials, designed to be accessible and practical, will soon be available for teachers to use in their own classrooms. Our goal is to empower teaching staff to incorporate creative and cultural education into their everyday teaching practices, nurturing a generation of confident, creative thinkers.

Professional Development for Teaching Staff

In May 2025, we’ll be hosting a series of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) sessions for teachers across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. These sessions will provide invaluable training, equipping teachers with the skills and confidence needed to deliver creative and cultural sessions independently. By investing in the professional development of teachers, we’re ensuring that the benefits of this programme will be felt for years to come.

A Big Thank You to Our Team

This programme would not be possible without the dedication and expertise of our project team. Their inspiring and fun participatory workshops are already making a difference in schools, sparking joy and creativity in classrooms across the region. We’re incredibly grateful for their hard work and commitment to making this programme a success.

Looking Ahead

As we continue to develop and refine this programme, we’re excited about the potential to transform creative and cultural education in the early years. With the support of Arts Council England, the enthusiasm of local schools, and the passion of our project team, we’re building a foundation for lifelong creativity and cultural engagement in young learners.

Stay tuned for updates on our teaching resources, CPD sessions, and the inspiring work happening in schools across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
